Dr.Svetlana Stryuts

I am a family physician of mixed Russian-Ukrainian origin. I completed my medical education at the Medical Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, followed by one year of Internal Medicine residency at the same institution. My training was interrupted when I immigrated to Canada.

After arriving in Canada, I completed multiple licensing examinations and successfully competed for a residency position. I chose Family Medicine after developing a strong passion for comprehensive, patient-centered care and a holistic approach to health. I completed my Family Medicine residency at McMaster University.

Following residency, I practiced as a locum physician in the Hamilton area and eventually settled in Brighton, Ontario, where I spent eight rewarding and fulfilling years serving the community. After this meaningful chapter, I felt a calling to return to the Greater Toronto Area and begin a new stage in my professional and personal life. I am now proud to serve the Vaughan and Richmond Hill communities.

Medicine has always been my true passion. I learned to read using my mother’s veterinary textbooks, which sparked an early fascination with medicine. Over time, this interest grew to include a deep appreciation for people, human connection, and the doctor–patient relationship—shaping the physician I am today. I am deeply passionate about my work and committed to lifelong learning; there is not a single day that goes by without reading, studying, or expanding my medical knowledge to better serve my patients.
